A force to be reckoned with, committed and keen, keeping our planet tidy and clean.
63% of UK litter is made up of plastic, most commonly drinks bottles and packaging.
Over time this litter degrades turning into micro-plastics that end up in our water and food sources.
Consuming micro plastics make us sick by causing damage to human cells and are linked to serious illnesses, breathing difficulties and allergic reactions.
So what can we do?
Our Planet Needs You is teaming up with Veolia to bring you the Anti-Litter Bugs!
Local students are joining forces to take on pesky litter, making our streets cleaner, greener, and cutting down harmful microplastics in the environment.
Schools earn points for every litter pick they complete—but lose points for litter left behind, as checked by OPNY Ambassadors.
Litter-picking equipment is provided to schools free of charge by Veolia.
