Green Dinners

Should we be more careful of the food that we eat?

Well producing less CO2 means eating less meat, and buying things local instead of from overseas…

Agriculture in the UK accounts for 10% of greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to this, the UK imports almost half of its food, adding 20 million tonnes of CO2 to the UK’s footprint every year.*

Making the change!

You don’t need to go fully vegan to make a difference.

Even cutting out meat and dairy just one day a week can have a big impact on reducing carbon emissions.

Meat-Free Monday is a campaign that encourages people to enjoy plant-based meals once a week.

Buying and eating seasonal and locally produced food is also a great way to reduce impact.

Schools are joining forces to reduce the carbon impact of school dinners, serving Green Dinners—delicious, planet-friendly meals that help cut emissions and reduce food waste.

Green Dinner day = A fully plant-based menu served to all students at school for one day.

Schools will start with Meat-Free Mondays, and add more days if they can.

For every Green Dinner day, schools earn 1 point.
