Anti-Litter Bugs

A force to be reckoned with, committed and keen, keeping our planet tidy and clean.

63% of UK litter is made up of plastic, most commonly drinks bottles and packaging.

Over time this litter degrades turning into micro-plastics that end up in our water and food sources.

Consuming micro plastics make us sick by causing damage to human cells and are linked to serious illnesses, breathing difficulties and allergic reactions.

So what can we do?

Introducing the Anti-Litter Bugs!

Local students are joining forces to take on pesky litter, making our streets cleaner, greener, and cutting down harmful microplastics in the environment.

Schools can complete up to 10 litter picks per year, scoring a maximum of 20 points for each.

Participating pupils are scored out of 5 for Focus, Attitude, Cleanliness, and Teamwork by OPNY Youth Leads.

Scores are tracked on our leaderboard below.
